Censeo Consulting Client, EPA Named 2017 SDCE 100 Winner for Outstanding Improvements to its Acquisition Function

Censeo Consulting Group congratulates the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for winning the prestigious SDCE 100 Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 exemplary supply chain projects. EPA was chosen for its category management and sourcing efforts.

Censeo is excited that EPA is being recognized for all it has accomplished since embarking on this effort in 2013. EPA faced budget cuts, in addition to struggling with inefficiencies and redundancies in its Acquisition function. The Office of Acquisition Management (OAM), supported by Censeo Consulting Group, performed an organization diagnostic and identified an opportunity to align the organization by spend category. EPA successfully designed and implemented a category management function, which enables the Agency to build expertise, drive savings, and create efficiencies.

As a result, EPA reduced its number of annual contracts by 50% between 2013 and 2016 and has achieved over $11M in savings to date.
