CEO of Censeo Consulting Group Named Recipient of 2009
Minority Business Leader Award by the Washington Business Journal

Raj Sharma recognized as one of Washington region’s top minority business owners

Washington, D.C., March 2, 2009 - Raj Sharma, President and CEO of Censeo Consulting Group, will be honored at the second annual Minority Business Leaders Awards program hosted by the Washington Business Journal on April 2, 2009 at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C. The Minority Business Leader Awards honor Washington’s top minority business leaders and owners who exhibited outstanding performance for their companies within the last 12 to 18 months. Finalists will be profiled in a special supplement of the Washington Business Journal on April 3, 2009.

From the beginning, Censeo has been driven by a set of principles based on exceptional service for our clients, and an unwavering commitment to our people, our partners and communities,” said Sharma. “Being recognized by the Washington Business Journal is further evidence that a business model based on efficiency and a passion for ‘the greater good’ is a model for success.”

Within the federal government, Sharma is a recognized leader for his work helping agencies transform their acquisition business practices. Under his leadership, Censeo’s “strategic sourcing” framework has been adopted by the Office of Management and Budget for government-wide initiatives as well as by the Army, Navy, and GSA, among others, as the foundation for major strategic sourcing initiatives. Censeo typically delivers between 10% and 30% in documented savings for government clients through more efficient acquisition of goods and services.

In the private sector, Sharma works with Fortune 500 clients to develop leading-edge thinking on leveraging the supply chain to drive both top-line and bottom-line growth. For the past several years, he has been named a “Pro to Know” by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine.

Under Sharma’s leadership, Censeo is not only making a positive financial impact for its clients but also positively affecting the lives of its employees, as well as the community. Censeo has been noted for its work/life model and human resource practices that are allowing its people to take on challenging/rewarding work while leading healthy, balanced lives.  Mr. Sharma also recently instituted a “Censeo Day of Service,” an annual event during which employees are encouraged to devote a work day to a local community service activity or other Censeo-sponsored volunteer event.
